Every year, in Ramadan, we anxiously wait for the latest series, and every year we get lost because of the amount of options we have, not knowing what to watch and what to skip. Being the tradition that it is, we can’t forget the fawazeer, Boogi w Tamtam, Bakar, Yawmeyat Wanees, and so much more that we can’t begin to list.
To help you pick and choose the series that resonates with you, we’ve put together a list of the best series this Ramadan, the crème de la crème if you will.
El Kebeer Awy, Season 8
The modern Ramadan classic, El Kebeer Awy is back with its 8th season. The series is starring Ahmed Mekky (El Kebeer, Johnny, Hazalo’um), Rahma Ahmed (Marbouha), Mohamed Sallam (Hagrass), and Hatem Salah (Nafady), to name a few; and is directed by Ahmed El Gondy.
Set in Mazareeta, the series’ first opening scene is of Mazareeta on Halloween, and we can only assume what could possibly go wrong with that. The series has ‘Hagrass’ as a standup comedian now and ‘Nafady’ hosts a prank show, and ‘El Kebeer’ has grown obsessed with everything Disney. ‘Marbouha’ is pregnant this season, and the series depicts the challenges that arise from her mood swings and how ‘El Kebeer’ deals with them.

El Hashashin
Without a doubt, this series is one of the most anticipated and watched series this Ramadan. Be it the production value, the cast, or the story itself, everything in this puzzle came together to paint a vivid picture of The Assassins. The series is starring Karim AbdelAziz (Hassan Al Sabah), Sammy Sheik (Barzak Omid), Fathi AbdelWahab (Nizam Al Mulk), Ahmed Eid (Zayed Ibn Sayhoun), and many more; and is directed by Peter Mimi.
This series retells the story of The Assassins, lead by Hassan Al Sabah, and how they came to be known as one of the deadliest groups throughout history and their expansion outside of Persia.

El Maddah, Season 4
Can we even mention Ramadan series without the infamous El Maddah? The series is back with its 4th season and is so much creepier than any other season. The series is starring Hamada Helal (Saber El Maddah), Heba Magdy (Rehab), Sahar El Sayegh (Malika), Fathi AbdelWahab (Samih El Galad), and more; and is directed by Ahmed Samir Farag.
The series continues in its route of depicting black magic and the people responsible for it, but this time, Saber El Maddah faces new challenges and a curse that threatens him and his family. A war between Saber El Maddah and the Jinn leads Saber to follow what the Jinn tell him to do, but he witnesses things too strange to be coincidences.
This Ramadan series is 30 episodes long, and is shown on MBC Masr, MBC Masr 2, and Shahid.
Asghal Shaqa
It goes without say, that Hesham Maged is one of the best comedians from his generation. Having said that, how could we not talk about his new series Ashghal Shaqa? The series is starring Hesham Maged (Hamdy AbdelRahim), Asmaa Galal (Yasmin), Sherine (Norhan), Salwa Mohamed Aly (Sawsan), and many more; and is directed by Khaled Diab.
‘Hamdy AbdelRahim’ is a forensic scientist in this series and his wife ‘Yasmin’ just gave birth to twins and is in need of live-in help. After one night of trying to do it on their own as a couple, ‘Hamdy’ finally agrees to hire live-in help, but little did they know their help would not come as very useful most of the time.

A’la Nesbet Moshahda
Based on a true story, this series talks about hunger for fame from a different perspective and its effect on the lives of people who grow to fame. The series is starring Salma Abo Deif (Shaimaa Fathi), Laila Ahmed Zaher (Nesma Fathi), Entesar (Hamdeya), and more; and is directed by Yasmin Ahmed Kamel.
This series depicts the lives of people living in poverty and what they do to overcome it. ‘Shaimaa’ and her and her sister ‘Nesma’ become overnight stars on TikTok and a world of challenges between them starts.

Embratoryet Meem
You couldn’t have missed the classic movie Embratoreyet Meem starring Faten Hamama, and the challenges she faced raising her kids on her own in the 70’s. Now, you can watch the series remake of the film, but with a male lead. The series is starring Khaled El Nabawy (Mokhtar Abu El Magd), Hala Sheha (Mai), Nour El Nabawy (Marwan), and more; and is directed by Mohamed Salama.
‘Mokhtar’ finds himself solely responsible for his 6 children after the death of his beloved wife, trying to relate to their modern ways of thinking, and having been so in love with his deceased wife, he is faced with parental and romantic challenges.

Atabat El Bahga
Yehia El Fakharany, being a household name, is without a doubt one of the best Egyptian actors of all time. It comes as no surprise that his series Atabat El Bahga is one of the most watched in Ramadan 2024. The series is starring Yehia El Fakharany (Bahgat El Ansari), Jumana Murad (Ne’na’a), Salah Abdulla (Arfan), Sama Ibrahim (Alia), and more; and is directed by Magdy Abo Omayra).
Previous Under Secretary ‘Bahgat’ is responsible for raising his grandkids ‘Amr’ and ‘Gamila’, but is faced with a series of unfortunate events in order to provide for them, and is in search of happiness.

Massar Egbari
The up and coming star Ahmed Dash has been starring in some of the best films and series out there for the past couple of years. It goes without say, that this year, his series Massar Egbari is no exception. The series is starring Ahmed Dash (Hussein Amr El Brince), Essam Omar (Ali Omar El Brince), Sabreen (Ehsan), Basma (E’nayat/Ne’na’a), and more; and is directed by Nadine Khan.
In a suspenseful drama, ‘Hussein’ and ‘Ali’ live two completely different lives until they discover they share the same father, who after his death leaves them both with condemning evidence that changes the whole story.
